Privacy Policy

Here's what Belinda collects when you visit, and what we do with it — written plainly, not buried in legalese. Last updated July 2026.

In a nutshell

You can read everything here without an account. We don't use tracking cookies, and we don't sell anyone's data. We keep light, anonymous stats on which pages get read, and if you comment or write to us, we hold on to what you send.

Visit stats

Each time a page loads, we log which page it was, the rough source of the visit (a search engine, a social link, or direct), your device type and your country. So we can count readers without knowing who they are, your IP address is run through a one-way scramble that resets daily — the raw IP is never saved, and no cookie is involved.

Comments

If you comment, we store the name and email you enter along with your message. Your name and comment can appear publicly after we review them; your email stays private and is only used if we need to get back to you.

Messages you send us

Anything you send through the contact form reaches our inbox so we can reply. We keep those messages only as long as they're useful.

Ads

If we run ads to cover costs, networks like Google AdSense may set their own cookies to choose ads and track how they perform. That's their system, not ours — you can switch off personalised ads in your Google settings or your browser.

Outside services

A few pages load fonts or scripts from Google, so their servers receive the normal request details (your IP and browser type) needed to send those files. What they do with that is governed by Google, not us.

What you can do

  • Browse the entire site without giving us anything personal.
  • Clear or block cookies in your browser at any time.
  • Ask us to remove a comment or message you sent — just get in touch.

Students under 18

Plenty of our readers are still in secondary school, and the site is built with them in mind. We don't knowingly collect anything beyond the basics above from anyone, whatever their age. Parents who'd like a comment or message taken down can reach us and we'll handle it.

Updates to this page

If any of this changes, we'll revise this page and the date above. Anything significant will be clear.
